really long .
but beautiful .
aside from the rampant
attempt at studying ,
and the grateful moments of talking
me out of my subliminal flow of emotions
(thanks to hong siew and cheryl ,
along with eileen for talking me out these few days)
i met this boy , Navin .
he wanders around the college at odd hours
with such consistency that almost everyone recognises him .
but doesnt know him .
i knew him on occasions during rugby trainings
as a very curious and naughty boy .
but never more till just now .
cheryl , hong siew and i invited him over to our table
while eating , as he waded pass our canteen as usual .
his smile was so sincere .
i believe he suffers from mild cerebral palsy ,
and knowing his condition ,
he definitely liked the attention and concern he received .
talking to him was a chore but never a burden .
his innocence (though as a 16 year old boy)
is angelic .
and his intelligence , is way beyond believable .
though his speech and movement impaired to an extent
beyond understanding through usual means .
he made an effort to communicate with us through his gestures ,
attempts at enunciating words ,
and especially his smiles .
and when he knows we will not understand ,
he made the effort
and traveled home
to bring us a little torn piece of notebook cover that spells his school .
touching .
he operated all of our handphones , almost as instantly as he picks it up .
camera functions , music players , dialling , even GPRS .
wow .
his persistence is immense .

perhaps its a blessing , his simplicity and innocence .
not knowing how harsh the world truly is .
but prospectively , he views the world as a beautiful place .
sweet innocence .

sounds like an autobiography .
but those almost 2 hours we spent with him was ,
i will say ,
heartwarming .
lifechanging even .
perhaps situational in my case .
but he really cheered my up .
broke quite a few of my chains bounding me .
